Fingerprints What They Can & Cannot Do!

This is a paper that was presented at a training seminar for lawyers in Los Angeles (USA) and is made available on-line by the South California Association of Fingerprint Officers along with heaps of other articles about fingerprinting and identification from their official publication The Print . This organisation also offers an on-line bibliography of fingerprinting with over 800 references (many are on-line). Be warned, it is a large file!

A very comprehensive site on fingerprints. Hosts discussions on significant problem cases involving fingerprints including the controversial Shirley McKie case. The site also has interesting articles on superglue fuming for latent prints. For more information on the Shirley McKie case visit the BBC TV Panorama program web-page for the episode entitled "Finger of Suspicion" . A transcript for the program can be found here.
